The fact that some of you think JDI day cost is equivalent to some amount of corporate-wide bonus is disturbing

I don’t think so. I’m surprised that they’re spending money on JDI Day.

Given this job market it may take you a year to find another job. No hurt in looking now.
Real question should be : are we keeping our jobs?
