Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Retiree Internet Discount

The company has done a review on accounts participating in discounts, and they found my retiree discount internet plan does not align with the program’s terms and conditions.

My discount for internet 50 and autopay were eliminated. So my bill (w/UVerse) has increased from $159 to $174.

Has any switched to DIRECTV Streaming? Looks like I can cut my bill to $92 (before taxes) with them.

There has always been a lot of overlap between this site and the Facebook retiree group since so many older employees retire in place and stay on active payroll for so long.

If you are an ATT retiree, FACEBOOK has a really good retiree page callefvATT RETIREE ISSUES you can join. Discussions mostly center around Medicare, ATT'S retirement plan, FIDELITY and Rerired employee discounts with ATT.

“” Are you a retiree that achieved Modified Rule of 75? If yes, you should be getting $10 internet. I'd call the retiree # in that case and ask. There is no longer a discount for TV, though.””

Agreed. I have uverse for approx $120 and internet 5000 for $10. My total bill is $136.50. Definitely call retiree services.

OP is clueless. Asking employees that work at AT&T when employees that work at AT&T no longer use the ripoff services because the fake employee discounts are still higher than everyone else. AT&T is good for the ghetto. They offer so called free phones and bury your a$$ with payback payments for 3 years. You end up paying more for the phone while they stick you with a higher cost for the core service. I wouldn’t give these pricks one red cent.

No one has subscription cable and satellite anymore. You are throwing $60+ out the window every month. Get decent internet and sign up for a few streaming TV options - they all give you a free month usually. Then stay with the one you like best. I recommend an easy set top box solution like Roku.
