Wells Fargo tried to outsource the collections department to the Philippines. The employees were told on Tuesday about their reassignment to customer service or quit. The people that made this decision don't know much about collections. Each state has different collection laws. The employees jobs are no longer being outsourced. Collections cannot be outsourced, they will have to pay more American employees.

@OP Collections cannot be outsourced. Well, maybe not to India. I remember when this bank laid off and/or repositioned many in the default (HL foreclosure) 15? years ago. With "defaults" each state (and sometimes each county/parish) will have different rules and processes. I think they went to LPS (now Black Knight) for the solution.
