Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Off payroll on May 12th, notification on April 28th

This is a big round of layoffs.
Today HR surplus sends email to over 285 supervisors that have employees impacted as part of this round of surplus.

Supervisors are in many organizations:
Jon Summers, Jason Press (part of Legg)
Jan Roberson
Corey Anthony
Melissa Arnoldi
And more

The email is so supervisors attend mandatory session next week prior to actual notification date of April 28th

Is this solely management personnel affected by this layoff round or will bargained for personnel be included? I know bargained for are usually notified in the 3rd week of the 3rd month of each quarter, but may this time it will be different...I certainly hope so!

Don't know but I am non union and my supervisor told me to expect a call on April 28th so it is definitely happening and it will definitely be domestic management employees. We are always the expendable ones.

I’ve heard this date from a few people , I guess we’ll see soon. Not sure what ‘huge’ means or if there’s a hub/virtual aspect to this one- still quite a lot of people approved outside of hubs as virtual workers.

Looked like ~90% of supervisory management under Anthony were on a call this morning. Could it be that they were on a surplus meeting? Seemed like something big was going on

How foretelling were jeff Mcelfresh’s comments sticking up for the union workers days before offering them a fat contract with gold standard job

The only thing foretelling was the double peanut butter and jelly sandwich he was having for lunch.

We want Jon Summers to wake up Sleepy Ward and tell him the party’s over. Walk him out the door before he can spend one more dollar. He’s not even an orchestrator. He’s the kid in school that has everyone else do his homework for him.

How foretelling were jeff Mcelfresh’s comments sticking up for the union workers days before offering them a fat contract with gold standard job security. Meanwhile John’s promises to cut 3 billion from the business amid rising overhead expenses. I won’t be surprised if this is true and the cuts and offshoring continue.

I know my supervisor has had talks months ago about which wounded gazelles the hyenas should go after. I’m sure he’s had enough time to pretend how surprised he is during the upcoming announcements.

Memorial Day will have new meaning next month.

Eww--not even remotely funny or even quality sarcasm.

Congratulations to all the parolees getting severance. Many of us will not be so lucky. Enjoy your new and better life after AT&T.

I hope it was in my management chain of command. I’m gone and happy but they are only out for themselves. I suppose we all are but don’t take a job as a boss if you can’t stick up for your people. It’s just decency, Big T has none.

The ship is sinking like titanic. There are managers, very few leaders. The managers are have performers on PIP .. lie about wanting to help , all lies, lies lies and gonna f&k the worker.. once again.
Sales reps who have exceeded in run rates .. got royal sc--w in 2025.. un attainable quota, added to this.. the micro managing BS of working hours and finding faults with minuscule BS .. to “justify” to themselves and to try to cover with Hr.. Legg, Skippy Jeff , stinky winky .. all full of sh!… walks like duck, quacks like duck.. yep they are fkn the workers.

The meeting is about how the immediate supervisor has performed their duties the past year to off shore the affected employees effectively, then turn around and tell them they had no idea it was coming and they are better off elsewhere.

Word on the street is every org is impacted. We were told that some groups will see as little as 5% and others over 30%.

Federal, Government Teams, Mid Markets are being targetted, and subsequent teams that support these business units will also see a reduction in headcount as well.
