How to pay back tuition reimbursement

If I quit, how does one pay back tuition reimbursement? The policy on Sparq addresses in the event of a layoff and then if you quit or get terminated. But the policy does not address how they would get the money back from you.
** The amount of reimbursement for me is $5250 which is bigger than any last check I would have.

Any ideas?

I don't know what's on Sparq but In my very limited experience, this is at least in part up to your supervisor and the circumstances so you may not find a concrete answer on this. One of my employees was impacted by a layoff and she had been getting tuition reimbursement. The folks leading the layoff effort did not seek reimbursement of previously paid tuition. In addition, she was mid-semester when the layoff happened and so had another tuition bill yet to be reimbursed. About 2 months after being laid off she came to me with that bill. HR told me it was my (and my supervisor's) decision to pay it or not. We decided to pay it - it wasn't a huge amount in the UHC bucket and we didn't want to add insult to injury after she was laid off. Had she left on her own, however, I don't believe we would have paid it.

OP, I’m actually going through the same thing and had similar questions. Did HR provide any feedback to you? Do you have any updates you can share?

Submit this question through the Employee Center. Ensure you state its regarding Tuition Reimbursement and it will get routed directly to that team. HR will only know the answers to the questions directly outlined in the policy.
