Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Is this Elliot’s “You asked for this” JD Layoff?

Seeing and hearing of layoffs going on specifically for certain senior leaders throughout Nike. Is this Elliot’s JD infamous moment? Just 3 months ago Elliot said “he believed we had all the right talent pieces at Nike”, hence the people on this forum constantly hounding him to do layoffs because they didn’t believe it.

Also, don’t take me as a defender of no layoffs, we have way too many senior leaders and sometimes that’s fracturing the right work. However, morale is at an all time low, macro economic effects are weighing on all of us globally. How much more can the Nike Worker take?

groups in GT and ED&AI working on product and innovation should be on EH’s radar. Millions of $ are being bled YoY with no tangible return or any directly quantifiable and measurable impact on revenue. These GT projects either do not have a business partner or the sponsors are being fleeced. Meanwhile VPs and SDs in GT are busy building empires and hardly deliver any real value to Nike’s business. Cut your losses and return to your core business Nike.

Get rid of Product in GT. Cut CIS in half. We are no longer doing web so cut that team in half too.

Speaking for tech, GT needs to be cut in a third, specifically grades 50+. Shocking how many people collect huge checks and contribute very little. If only Elliott truly knew what was happening in the tech world. If it were run like an agency with billable hours to the business it would be belly up by the end of the week.

I think there is no pleasing the people on this site. You complain on here repeatedly asking for leadership change/exit and when it happens you continue to complain.
The HR is still operating on the same set of rules, unfortunately, and layoffs cannot be broadcasted esp if it’s targeting LT teams. Neither of the VPs and SDrs I heard about were a surprise. In fact, many were surprised they didn’t get cut the last round

Not a JD or MM fan. They at least had courage to let us know when layoffs happened. EH and TH doing a stealth operation erodes trust. Reflects what we can expect moving forward from these leaders.
