Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO and COLLABORATION

ok so how many people "COLLABORATE" DAILY??? and with the restricted no assigning of seats, are you seeking out people to "collab" with? or are they ever new strangers sitting next to you that have NOTHING to do with your work. Hi want to collab? Bing... hr complaint and a personal lawsuit, "that man dared talk to me with out my explicit and prior consent"
and more importantly "did NOT address me correctly as "they, them, cray cray"... "

so if you aren't collaborating daily, what again is the purpose of RTO?

“From what we observed in the nursery school area of the building”

I have a nursery school in my office too where they collaborate and play game all day. They have their own desks with name tags, corn hole, ping pong, putting green, and it the workstation have so many personal items thrown everywhere it looks like someone lives there. These kids sure like their models and toys.

O.P. asks: ok so how many people "COLLABORATE" DAILY???

From what we observed in the nursery school area of the building both pre-c0v1d and post RTO........ Almost all of the ch1ldren collaborate almost all day every day. examples of their collaboration: where is lunch today?, where is happy hour tonight?, why do I have to come to work?, what are the plans for this weekend?, did you see the new hottie?, my parents want me to move out., what kind of car should I get next?...........

Almost no work getting done, just collaborating........

"One purpose of RTO is to have employees consistently conplete a minimum of 8 hours work each business day."

Well, the stank has accomplished that. I have cut my hours back to the minimum. My commute takes up the additional time that I was willing to work when I was WFH.
Further, if you have to come into the office to get your work done then you should be fired anyway. And if the supervisor cannot not determine who is getting their work done then the supervisor should be fired also.

This conversation is so January. You must be part of the April class of 5x8.

This has nothing to do with collaboration, that was obviously a lie. This is about reducing headcount. Get it now?

“AI is breathing down your n3ck to replace your jobs and you are worried about this?”

It’s not as advanced as the IT hype men would have folks think. Now, the intent of AI is indeed to replace human labor. That way, we “useless eater” humanoids will be more pliable for the globalist’s planned tyranny. The predictions of TJK will be coming to fruition.

Once I started going to the office I wasn’t impressed. People have been coming in 2 hours after me and leaving 2 hours before me. I work 8 hour days. All RTO has done for me is made me realize how many people don’t care.

Everyone wears headphones, there’s no eye contact and no collaboration at all. Mind you, AT&T has created this culture.

I DRIVE into the office to “COLLABORATE” on MS TEAMS with the exact same people that I “COLLABORATED” with while WFH on MS TEAMS.

The “reason for RTO is to collaborate” is absolutely a FALSE narrative when the majority are still on the EXACT same MS TEAMS calls for “COLLABORATION” the SAME in the office as they were when WFH.

Leadership thinks employees are ignorant.

Laughable that RTO is for collaboration when everyone under 29 years old are introverts.
Yes, introverts by generational standards due to growing up on cell phones. Nothing wrong with it. Just pointing out the irony that T wants in person collaboration when the age group they want the most of prefers to “collaborate” over email, text and teams. In order for 29 and under to excel in the workplace, they need to work from home undistracted and able to excel at their style of interaction, device to device. Another swing and a miss, and STRIKE THREE Jeremy.

AT&T Insider & Stankey touting Linkedin's top companies to work for in 2024. AT&T coming in at #7 on the list with high marks for "hybrid work flexibility" haha Kiss that ranking goodbye.

RTO was designed to allow employees to live their designation across the country.

In office exchange is useful for sharing information and knowledge skills with professional mature adults. Not so much with those who don't want to be bothered to engage with co-workers. Some people want to do as little as possible to get by on the job. It's human nature but understand that earning your paycheck and benefits comes with some inconvenience usually. You are getting something worthwhile or you wouldn't be here. You could contribute a little bit in return.

we could collaborate by attending the seminar on the company’s sustainability efforts and how they help the business and collectively laugh our a$$es off.’

Saw this on HR Onestop and had to laugh

After we drive our gas guzzling SUVs by ourselves to the office so that we can send emails and sit on calls, we could collaborate by attending the seminar on the company’s sustainability efforts and how they help the business and collectively laugh our a$$es off.’

Amazing that not a single person who thinks of these things has a sense of irony.

They have this fantasy that people in the same location would magically mentor the inexperienced new hires brought in to replace your sme colleagues who were let go for living in the wrong zip code. They literally said the companies future depended on it

Obviously people who wouldn’t mentor over teams aren’t going to do it in person either

But at least there is all the patentable inventions that occur as you collaborate with people from other teams you run into while dropping a log at work.

Patents didn’t dry up during remote work because of remote work but because of the continued brain drain.

One purpose of RTO is to have employees consistently conplete a minimum of 8 hours work each business day.

Serious question: why? Do you work on an assembly line? What is magical about 8 hours? If you have an employee working 7 hours but adding more profit to the company than one working 9, are you going to keep the one that makes you more or less money?

what again is the purpose of RTO?

To force white men over 40 to resign (used to be called retiring), achieving an employment discrimination outcome that would otherwise be against federal law. There is NO OTHER PURPOSE. There never was.

if you look at your employee average and trend report you would see how many hours you are doing.. In January, I heard "rumors" they were going to track network time, didnt see the actual report until the 3rd week of February.. When I looked at my Trend and Average.. I was in the office 10+ hours online.. Thats what I have done for YEARS. But prior to RTO I had a damn DESK.

Honestly we have an assigned area for our organisation, still no one collaborates.

The only collaboration happens at the coffee area, bi--hing about RTO
