I was proud to take care of my clients in a way that was good for them, but also good for the bank - balanced. I had been able to move a number of SunTrust clients to BB&T because of that care over the years. When the merger was announced, I knew disaster was on the horizon for my clients and the bank. Though BB&T bought STI, it quickly became apparent who was aggressively running the show. KK acquiesced on nearly every principle, system, and way of doing business for the sake of his "legacy" and in his attempt to "out do" John Allison. That is when I decided I was OUT. I did not want to work for STI.
