I have a question before I consider a position at Fiserv. If I am a Platform Engineer or basically an technology engineer and have to work 4 hours 3-4 times a week in Maintenance windows at night. Am I expected to come into the office for that? If I do that from home do I still have to do 9 hours in the office each day?

In general Fiserv doesn’t care about work life balance. My team is expected to be in the office for 8 - 9 hours regardless of whether you had been up all night.
My family has already been instructed that if I were to wreck after being up all night, trying to get to the office that they are to sue Fiserv.
This company doesn’t care about its employees work life balance, safety and pay increases do not keep pace with inflation. Management on all levels are insensitive.
In my server support days it could all nighters and weekend time to get the damn things up and running. Could not be done remote from Pune
Run away now! Dont be stupid and join this cluster F!
I work with people that do on-call support. They are still required to be in office 8 hours 5 days a week even if they are up half the night on a support call. (9 hours if manager)
If you think treatment of associates was bad.. now their strategy is hire back firmer employees as contractors.. even worse!
If you have a wife, kids... or just a wife... if you don't care about family and friends, your physical & mental health... take the position. Otherwise, find another company!
Matter of fact - seek employment at a company you can be mostly sure Fiserv will not eventually acquire! Yes, executive management is THAT bad here. Just don't do it, and forget you ever considered it.
“I have a question before I consider a position —“. What? Dude. Dudddde. Run far and run fast unless you’re desperate or fresh out of college. This forum and Glassdoor should awaken your senses to not come to this total sh-tshow
I was a contract worker with the IT oriented group Malware forensics and the group itself was wonderful - but retired in November 2019 just before First Data and FB rules took over and nothing is the same. It was a fine company prior to that but ,,,,,, well, read the -posts here and you'll learn alot,.
Think about the situation. What would make sense? Disregard that thought. It does not apply to Fiserv.
What is the most literal interpretation of the rule, that completely ignores logic and reason. That is what happens at Fiserv.
You will be required to work during the service window, in addition to the time you spend in the office. There will be no additional compensation for this extra time that is mandatory for your job duties.
Potentially there could be a policy change with a New CEO, but not enough time has passed to see if that is the case. Even if it does change, it could take months to implement the policy change. Things move very slowly at Fiserv.
YES
Most likely, it depends on your management.
I'm mainframe IT. I won't be there 9 hours, but I'm closer to retirement and DGAF
Oh ge-z, yes you have to work 9 hour days as well as work from home. They slave us here. Please stay away.
