Heard rumor that GPN is ready to sell TSYS(issuer ) business to FIS by Q2.. Anyone else heard that.

Well it’s just happened - got the email from the CEO this morning
After 5 years of being under GP "leadership," it is a bit hard for me to imagine being sold off would be a terrible thing. 😂
Another interesting option is for Global to be taken private by GTCR. GTCR sells off the issuing business to their current partner FIS and GTCR combines Global and Worldpay under private ownership. GTCR can immediately cut about 50% of the combined Global + Worldpay expense base given how much the businesses overlap. But a little financial engineering might make the numbers work.
Just because FIS sold Worldpay to GTCR doesn't mean GTCR won't sell their stake to Global at a price that delivers a return to GTCR. They've held it long enough to know whether they purchased a tu-d or not. Global sells issuing to FIS, FIS votes their remaining shares to sell Worldpay to Global, GTCR makes a quick profit selling Worldpay at a higher price than they paid. You can stop guessing if there will be lay offs, Worldpay plus Globals acquiring business would result in a good amount of layoffs.
No, Global Payments is not buying Worldpay; instead, FIS sold a majority stake in Worldpay to GTCR, a private equity firm. Where do you people get your information from??
also heard we will buy world pay so it has to be FIS not fiserv. there is a merit to it..
We've always made big announcements like this around quarterly earnings calls. So if it's going to happen we'll know soon enough.
