Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

DEI and Info Sec

Now that it’s established that DEI was useless and unfair why is the following still true?

CISO is a liar and incompetent and Indian
Head of App Sec is also incompetent and Indian.
&
Both of them are continually visiting India to hire more Indians.

They should be fired as they are working against the ORDERS from the Whitehouse.

And dont forget, TH (head of CCOG) was a Saul DEI hire. Good at filling the air with typical consultant bologna and no substance. TH needs to go!

CISO has no prior cybersecurity experience. Wells Fargo is doomed.

Exactly. So a tech guy doesn't even know tech but is complaining?

“ one of the managers I know just came back from his trip in India and he told me that it's such a joke over there that a Chinese military person can walk into the building with a bunch of USB sticks and compromise the Wells Fargo Network in the building from those entry points and nothing would be done about it.”

No, they can’t. In India, they are only on VDI and USB ports are locked down. India was on VDI before they rolled it out to the US.

There were two security situations in India. India Management did not reveal that information though I am told the CISO knew. Corruption and lying is common here. Even the Application Sec Champions are incompetent and misstate issues and add risk. The Application Sec Champions and their Manager, should be reviewed for competency. They routinely let thru high risk untested applications.

Wells Fargo is at risk. Severe risk.

The CISO is allowing all of his Indian executives to do remote work while forcing the Americans to come into office regularly. No American manager is allowed to say no either my manager has been working for Wells Fargo for over 25 years and he is so quick to be a Yes Man and throw every person underneath the bus to make his Indian boss happy with them he's like a dog wanting acknowledgment from his master that he's a good boy.

To make matters worse he goes to a webinar and he thinks he knows about security but the decisions he's making is just another Gap to address but give it by the end of this year and he'll probably move on to that position seems to have a year and a half to two year turn around they can't keep a CISO an Indian males of power have a real issue answering to women and since his boss is a woman of power it will probably not take much longer before he walks.

The reality is with everything that's happening Wells Fargo is going to further cut the American workforce and contract over to India and over there they don't have the same rules or regulations like they do in America. one of the managers I know just came back from his trip in India and he told me that it's such a joke over there that a Chinese military person can walk into the building with a bunch of USB sticks and compromise the Wells Fargo Network in the building from those entry points and nothing would be done about it.

Cyber security has become a line of business that is really an inside joke for the bank because no one is allowed to actually do cyber security and if you try to do anything that's viewed as changing the bank from a security stance you're shut down the only way you could actually make a suggestion move forward is if you whine and dine your Indian overlord and become best friends and basically become a lap dog.
