Keeping it short, got fired for Performance. Basically I didn’t offer Wireless on my calls. They told me I wasn’t eligible for Unemployment either. I’m guessing I’m not eligible? It was my fault tbh. Having callers complaining about their bills and promos ending I had several callers today that yelled at me for offering discounts on Wireless. 4 of which today told me “don’t try to sell me anything” so I didn’t. My managers told me I have to make a wireless offer on every call, and because I didn’t I was fired. I was on a counseling notice, then a written then a final for not offering to pi---d off customers, today was BO-M you are fired. My fault I guess, this job is not for me. Did anyone get fired for something like this & get unemployment benefits? I’m currently looking at customer service WFH jobs that doesn’t entail selling. I’m not a salesperson I learned that about myself. I won’t miss the micromanaging for sure. It’s kind of a wake up call knowing I’m just not good at this job.

I trained for a back office position as a contingency assignment. You people have my condolences. What a horrible job and expectations. I don't know how y'all do it.
@ca hey so i jsut got term same reason how did you get final pay was it all in one lump sum like commission and pay or do they send it separately since comission is like a month behind
File for unemployment comp anyway! Make ATT go on record and reject it, they might not! This company is is so effed up, they might not even have it properly documented. Your word against theirs!
You will get it.
You were fired because of performance isn't the same as being fired for theft or just not showing up to work.
Good ridence
File for unemployment using a fake name. They won't be able to connect the two.
File for unemployment anyway. The worst they could do is reject it.
I would have quit a long time ago with a job like that.
You admit to not following procedure, you were written up multiple times, bye bye no pay.
You were fired for cause. Why would you expect unemployment?
Moral of the story, follow company policy despite your misgivings, insubordination is an easy way to find yourself in the unemployment line. Looking at all you WFH employees not reporting to your assigned locations for the amount of days and hours asked. It’s only a matter of time before you join this person in the unemployed line. Good news is that unemployment rate is 4.2% so unless you are over 50 there is a good chance of finding some kind of work fairly quick depending on your profession. IT is one that’s not so good these days.
“I’m going to enjoy my weekend and File for Benefits this upcoming week.”
Don’t waste your time.
You are definitely eligible for unemployment. At first they will deny but just respond with what transpired the entire story as told on here and in the end you will get your unemployment but have to be consistent and respond to unemployment inquiries and answer them honestly with what you outlined on here and you will get your unemployment.
Why didn't the all powerful CWA ride in on a white horse and save your job? We pay them tons of $$$ every month!
Seek professional help. Playing a victim in life is an illness. And yes, you are wrong. People of all backgrounds have been fired from this company.
Bet you never said that to a PoC before. LMAO!!!!! Leftist, twisted, lunatic. Only backwards logic and purple hair apply. GTFO Jeremy Junior.
You were dismissed for work performance
No, it sounds like insubordination. He/she was told to sell wireless on every call, and didn't do so. Now, granted, he had lousy work performance, but, by not following directions, he handed them a free layoff.
I've seen this rerun before.
Thank you folks, I’m going to enjoy my weekend and File for Benefits this upcoming week. Appreciate it! Enjoy the weekend!
If terminated for sales performance or not meeting quota you can get unemployment. You won’t get it if you were terminated for COBC. Make sure you file for unemployment.
You are definitely eligible for unemployment. T won’t pursue denying you for it either.
Yes yiu qualify for unemployment. You were dismissed for work performance and not a code of conduct.
Accurately describes the current state of call centers. The company spent millions of dollars training us on retention of customers for a couple of years. This years, all that training was trashed and all focus is on selling wireless. We don't even try to retain customers canceling fiber for example, we are given a script on how to make calls about selling wireless. For the most part, it's selling customers additional lines they don't need. AT&T is running the call centers like sweat shops.
I would reach out to an employment lawyer. If you had the union involved through your disciplinary steps that will be important. If you haven't filed a grievance do so, this will be crucial in a lawsuit.
“I'll take Things That Didn't Happen for $500...”
I also take $500 for much of things that dooes not happen.
We dooes the paper billing for paper samir and paper sandeep. Even I can confirm that finding each can be mystery to mister leggs. But he dooes send the jobs to us and we are do the celebrating each of the days. mister leggs can always be welcome for said feast.

Don't trust your employer to tell you if you are eligible or not for unemployment. You can file and let the unemployment people decide. I once filed for unemployment. My employer at the time protested it twice but I prevailed and collected.
Sales calls from WFH. You were told to be in the office.
Sorry to hear that OP. Sounds to me like you were doing the right thing and your boss should get fired for being a je-k. Maybe if we had more like you in CS our satisfaction scores would be higher.
If this happened exactly as you said, you are white. Not a single PoC would ever be fired like this. TELL ME IM WRONG !!!!!!!!
FAKE, but cool story, bro
Sounds like T, fire the ethical workers. Put that on your resume. Fired for reading your caller and not cramming and pi----g off customers further. This is why I have never purchased any services from the company I work for and steer away anyone who ask.
