You shouldn’t be crying at work in most situations. As a new hire, I’ve been kind of shocked by how many “leaders” become overwhelmed and cry during meetings or presentations.

Lol who cares, I’ve seen the robot people too and they’re the worst to lead. Nothing that comes out their mouth is convincing, so maybe I’d like someone more emotional for a change.
Just wait.
DEI Hires?
Your director sounds like a good one and you and your team is lucky. However, I hope that she keeps her resume updated because fighting for your team is one way to end up on the next RIF list.
Line of fire? We make shoes and clothes. People at Nike think too highly of their title and role
I also agree, what is there to get emotional about. We sell unnecessary products to the world
WE SELL SHOES AND CLOTHES
WE SELL SHOES AND CLOTHES
WE SELL SHOES AND CLOTHES
Ok new hire, you’re either not a cultural fit, have done zero research and / or have never seen our CEO, cause he’s cried in every company wide meeting I’ve been to so far
My director is one of the good ones. She fights like he-l for her team and will regularly put herself in the line of fire to advocate for what we need. And more than a few times I’ve seen her get teary eyed when she’s talking about team wins or giving someone their flowers. And I don’t think a single person questions her competency just because she wears her emotions on her sleeve. I’d rather work with someone who’s comfortable showing emotion than a corporate robot.
