Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Anyone here on the experience design team ?

management is horrendous, have been yelled at, gaslit, sent condescending and scolding paragraphs over Slack, witnessed people yelling at eachother in daily meetings, harsh reprimands in emails, thrown under the bus, list goes on. One of the most toxic environments, even as a contractor….looking to leave asap but wonder if others are as miserable and mistreated?

Worked in Value Briefly. Most toxic environment ever with THE WORST manager I have ever seen, I hear that l-wlife was axed in March, so good riddance NM. It was a miserable TWTh for a bit there.

Fly to India and see how their country is run. Then you won't question why VZ is in such sad shape.

This is the result of nepotism among other factors. We no longer have LEADERS in management roles. We have INCOMPETENT people, with a management title.

Toxic people with dashboards and pivot charts is all that’s left. The workers all left or got fired

Toxic work environment seems to be company wide. Field personnel in operations face hostile work conditions also. From what I see this management behavior
is in a lot of departments. Toxic behavior must come from the top and encouraged since it is seen is many different departments.

The designers all think they are smarter then the product owners it’s pretty comical

the CX team (working on the various apps verizon has)
realized I should have been more specific.

And yes, certain coworkers have started recording meetings for accountability. only when things are not recorded does this crazy stuff happen. taking screenshots as well of slack convos...

You all should record these meetings and post them somewhere anonymously - give post-it girl a heart attack.

If you mean AK's org, probably the beat in all of Verizon, it's a great team to work in.

Do not know which experience design team … but most of them design while sleeping.. they will make customers clicks 4 times to get a simple task done.
Very poor performance. Also I found some people playing politics in the group..

Experienced this in the Value org. Toxic. As fate would have, was sent out the door with a very nice package and simply moved on. Feel sorry for anyone stuck. Hope you get a way out soon.
