Everything at Humana is a facade. If Humana tells you something, believe the opposite. If you're told Humana is a human company, understand they care about profits not employees. If Humana tells you they value your work, understand that they show their value by giving you raises that don't keep up with inflation. If Humana tells you that they value speaking up and asking questions, understand that you will be penalized for the same. If Humana tells you that leadership listens to your concerns, understand that they only care what you put on your survey which they have to account for. Years of working for this company has been soul crushing. I was once a dedicated employee who bought into all of their garbage and was proud to work at Humana. Now, I realize I've been played by a funhouse mirror.

Fun house mirrors, what an interesting, yet accurate, way to describe the extreme gaslighting Humana engages in. I'm with CW and the abuse is insane. Leaders are power tripping old ladies with pruned faces and black souls who know nothing but demand everything. If I wasn't a single parent, I would have left 18 months ago when the super crazy times started.
This is EXACTLY how I feel. Could have written this myself word for word. Thanks for posting. It’s nice to know I am not alone! “Soul crushing” says it all.
"No one is forcing you to stay. Not all departments or leaders are like what you are experiencing. There are people who have been on my team over 30 years and would not even consider leaving until retirement."
I referenced the company as a whole, not a specific leader. You sound like a real boot li---r. It's always who ya know or who ya blow. Which is it for you?

Welcome to the real world. I have worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies and it is ALL the same.
It wasn't a bad place to work until the former CEO left and took a lot of good people with him. A business has to make profit and I think almost 2.5 BILLION NET profit per year is plenty. The new CEO brought his people in and it has really gone to the cr-pper as far as employee retention goes. All the good people are leaving or getting fired.
Time for a class action whistleblower lawsuit.

Yes, every company is about profit. Humana just takes it to an extreme.
Newsflash: all companies care about profits. Without the profit incentive, you wouldn't have a job there.
Nobody does anything for anyone for "free." Even consider, for a moment, helping someone out by holding a door open. You do that to receive something - "a thank you." So, you expect something more for your effort. That "thank you" is your profit.
Agree. I have a pretty tough situation rn and all they care about is policy not what is going on at all. When someone higher up is losing a loved one I’m sure that “policy” doesn’t affect them
To the original post....I could not have said it better!
agreed that we are all like mushrooms growing through shyt, somehow surviving in spite of this company.
