I complained about possibly being targeted due to age and they added 6 months extra severance. :)

@c2+1jqrt2wtp I would bet that you are an attorney or married to one. If you want to spend 400-700 for a contract review go ahead. IMO a waste of $. The time to negotiate your severance is during the hiring process.
Too funny! I also like the anyone over 40 is in a protected class. Hialrouis!
Anybody downvoting the post about lawyer’ing up is either a corporate puppet or HR troll. You would have to a complete imbecile to sign an agreement like that without consulting an attorney.
They will deny your request and possibly the benefit all together if you push too hard… they’ll find something in ur IMs / emails / etc.
Ha!! Almost had me smh
Always lawyer up. Never sign anything. If you are over 40 you are a “protected class”. Never hurts to have a lawyer draft up a letter and request additional severance. It’s far cheaper for the company to pay out than get involved in a lawsuit. They want to avoid bad press as much as possible. I’m not guaranteeing success but I know others who have done this and were successful in obtaining another 3-6 months.
Sure pal
