There must have been another group of folks that had to start reporting today. Noticed a few more wandering around looking slightly lost and rather unable to find seating. One thought he'd found a place to start working and was quickly told he wasn't allowed to sit there. He looked so defeated.

I will not lie; I would have been one of those people if a colleague hadn't given me a heads up a couple weeks ago. My boss didn't give any guidance that some of this needed to be done. Just reminded me that I need to be reporting there on the given date.

Even more amusing is the number of freshies who don't have access to anything--some couldn't even get in the parking deck to go parking space hunting. Their bosses never told them they had to get all sorts of permissions/access added.

Sounds like he failed the first test of dominance in the AT&T hunger games. He better learn quick that unless they have the power to fire you, they don't get to tell you where you can and can't sit in the drop-in call center Thunderdome. I recommend raising your voice immediately and make it a spectacle. Ask for documentation on who owns what office space.
