No mention of layoffs for a while

Should we celebrate or worry?

The Director in charge of our office told me that WHQ tech is going to be cut in half and outsourced....we should be safe he said as we are not technically on campus.

Will there be layoffs soon? I doubt it. Within the next year or two however, in lieu of growth returning to the historical levels Nike enjoyed, Nike will need to substantially trim its cost structure. That means layoffs and I’d say there’s a high probability of it.

I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it but at the same time I’d be regularly scanning the employment market for anything that looked promising. The best time to obtain a new job is while you still have one. I have a friend who was laid off from a different company at the end of February. He’s still kicking himself daily for not more aggressively seeking another job before the layoff hammer came.

WHQ employee count is at the same level as 2016
2024 - 10700
2016 -10700
