I say no strike 70/30. One factor I’m considering is the stock price. It’s up 61% over the last year. No reason to derail this bull run.
Let the managers have at it for a while, good for them to have some field experience. It makes them appreciate the job and roadblocks we face daily. Of course they will have many jobs scrubbed and not be under any dashboard requirements.
Ignore the trolls, layoffs are always BAU and I’ve been here over 26 years. They have been using attrition and little to no hiring to thin the bargained ranks for years since Randall and Stankey took over.
Always a possibility, no take backs and decent wage increases without raising healthcare premiums, deductibles and out of pockets to unreasonable rates.
Most of us would enjoy some time off, need to get the grill cleaned up and get ready in case the company does stupid again. They love using ULP tactics.
Don’t know, don’t care…
They will bump pay and add some small benefits.
Then surplus enough union headcount to cover the increase.
If there is a strike I wonder what was learned from the SE work stoppage, on both sides? I would assume the company did a decent autopsy. Obviously no way to cover all that work but they should have had time to try and minimize the biggest pain points.
That would be foolish.
But go ahead, fight tooth and nail for the old guys to get a bump in pension, and then wait to be laid off by EOY.
