@oog+1jq99un2 I’ll simplify, so you can grasp the concept. A landline providing broadband. Understand? Something most have, whether older or younger than 70.

Here's the reason for the RIFs:

"T-Mobile added 854,000 monthly bill-paying phone subscribers in the third quarter. In comparison, AT&T added 708,000 postpaid phone subscribers and Verizon, the largest U.S. carrier by subscribers, added only 8,000 customers in the same period."

Verizon only added 8,000 customers...are you kidding me? Goes to show you that consumers don't care to pay premium prices for so called "PREMIUM SERVICE" as Verizon leaders say during times where inflation is at record levels and a recession looms around the corner.

Op, the article is about dropped wireless calls in the mountains of western North Carolina. Could be the mountains make for poor line of sight for vz cell towers. But, to your point Verizon is no longer the best network but our leadership through their action just doesn’t want to believe it.

@iyt seek anger management and redirect your nonsense towards leadership. People in unions are just like the rest of us, working to put food on the table. They are individuals that I have worked many times alongside on projects and the many I've met are hard working people. We need to stop this us vs them because in reality these folks needed a job and it automatically comes with needing to be in the union. If they didn't have the union, they would be facing the whims that we are. So stop the behavior because it doesn't benefit any of us at the bottom. It benefits the executives in this company. Why are you never blaming leadership? I work here for 20+ years and watch the us vs them and it's just wasted energy and we non union folks come off as a pack of dummies. This RIF had to do with leadership thinking it was a great idea to raise prices while people are dealing with inflation. Even Hans attitude of the market will adjust itself as if some miracle customers are going to say, oh we ok, let's go pay more. The most id--tic response.

@qif+1jq99un2 what year is it? I don't know anyone under 70 with a landline

It seems a logical solution for anyone having trouble working from home would be for them to use a landline if they believe their wireless is not up to snuff and incapable of doing what they need.

Nope. You lost your jobs because of the archaic union leeches who's contracts and work ethic suck this company dry.
