Analytics leadership

How come product and marketing analytics teams have the most ineffective leaders who also happen to grow fast- it’s true for product and marketing analytics organizations. VPs, SDs who can’t even write a single line of SQL. What’s the magic? Should I move from tech to analytics?

Very true. The managers are not leaders. There is a difference between a manager and a leader and this company is full of managers, not leaders. And they do not advance their people at all, just keep them down.

Very true. And these "leaders" get to make crucial decisions lacking this knowledge of what their underlings do. Then there is the increasing trend of companies hiring "managers" who have no formal qualifications in management. Don't get me going! Welcome to the age where dullness and mediocrity prevails.

Most leaders around here these days can’t do what the worker bees do. It’s disappointing.
