Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

How long before you receive an offer letter?

I received a verbal offer and accepted the offer after negotiations. It’s been a week and haven’t received the offer letter yet. Recruiter said the team that’s gets the offer letter is swamped. I didn’t think Nike was hiring that much to be swamped.

Any one recently joined can share their experience?

I LOL at the so-called recruits coming to layoff.com asking about salary, offers, etc. instead of a site like Glassdoor.com.

Guess they’ll fit right in at the Swoosh!

Nike recruiting is a mess. Feel bad for them because of all the layoffs but they really need to get it together.
Absolutely don’t give notice until you have a signed offer letter in hand.

Don’t give notice to your current job until you get the letter. Nike offered me a job, insisted I give my current employer notice and set a start date, then two days before I was supposed to start they told me the job was now on hold but I could take this other cr-ppy one. On top of that they said I had to hold to the one year before I could apply to another position rule even if the job I was first offered came back open.

I know people who have turned down roles because they didn't get a timely onboarding timeline nor timely offer letter.

TBH Nike is a sh-t show, It's an embarrassment. I would just move on and reject the role because after the lawsuit... Nike is going to have a lot of bad sh-t come out.

Since they laid off most of the recruiters last year yea the teams are overloaded. If you’re joining, you’ll need to learn to be patient and read the tea.

Your role might have been canceled or head count moved if it’s taking that long.
