Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Every day it’s something new

It really shocks me that there are so many widespread problems because people can’t work together. I wish someone would come audit the firm. I don’t think the firm would be able to cover the fees.

The Covid hires, management, tech, and processors have caused so many problems. Quality control was zero, now it’s simply just bad, which is a start but at this point, we need to cut our losses and start completely over.

Training won’t help, there needs to be a serious shift in the roles people are in.

Who will they tell? HR? HR will tell you to talk to your manager. Your manager tells you there is nothing they can do about it. THAT'S WHERE WOMEN ARE RIGHT NOW in 2025.

Abby as a female, is a disgrace to the gender. She "leads" this firm, and she keeps all the di-k slingers and continues pushing women down. Salary, Job Roles, etc.!

I’ve never seen data as bad as where I work and the mgmt team ( white women and Indians) either don’t care or don’t know what to do about it.

It takes experience and time to get to L7. Assuming you start here at 22, in 8 years, that's a lot of promotions. Its not some conspiracy to keep young people down ffs. It's just time. There is a whole generation between over 30 and the dinosaurs you so despise - that's the bulk of the company. If you are such a hot shot, there are plenty of super star companies out there you should try your luck at. Maybe they will recognize your worth and make you a vp before you turn 30. Try Goldman - most of their vps are under 30

Those dinosaur are the ones that built the company you know work at. So, be quiet and take responsibility for your own failures!

To be honest, the dinosaur hires might be worse than the DEI hires. They’re used to everything being a certain way back in the old days (before 2000), when things made more sense. These kids never even have a respectable president to vote for.

Said dinosaur hires told DEI hires and covid hires to go to school. The younger generation followed this advice to a T, but the system didn’t adapt well to how the world ended up going. To be fair and inclusive to the fossilized, who knew all this would happen? And just imagine the younger generation not having a world where you could just go outside and knock on your friend’s door and ask them to actually play.

You’d think the younger generation would bring the more baggage, but the cemented mentality of the geriatric brings friction about. I don’t see any L7+ being under 30 years old, and the same old people that bark at DEI hires and covid hires also complain about the management. So… which one is it?

The older generation clearly needs to make up their mind on who to blame for their lack of VBO. But let’s be clear - it’s not the younger generation who’s making the decision to prevent a VBO.

OP here, not a boomer. I just know so many unqualified people work at the firm and it’s comical how the company is still functioning.

@a3+1jpsrxan6 That Jurassic era you speak of is when people enjoyed their jobs, coming into work, and just as high profit margins 20%+ according to a boomer I used to work with. That’s when Ned was in charge.

We have audits and managers know how to hide things.
