It might have been before but not anymore. It’s about schmoozing with your second and third line. Do that, and the promotion rolls in. Just don’t get too comfortable. That shiny new title makes you a prime target for layoffs, and the raise is pathetic. This place is worthless.

Never was about hard work. You work too hard you don’t move up. Too valuable to production. But I’ve got to ask, who is trying to move up these days? Most everyone I know wants to move out of this place. Waiting on a new job offer, waiting on severance, waiting on the mythical package or waiting on Medicare to kick in.
The old adage says “it’s not who you know, but who you bl0w.” This place is crawling with sycophantic corporate toadies.
