Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

This is how Pathetic we look next to Tmobile

T-Mobile said it added 854,000 postpaid phone subscribers vs. estimates of 739,000. In the third quarter, AT&T (T) added 708,000 phone subscribers while Verizon Communications (VZ) added 8,000.

So all the customer we lost went to either Tmobile or ATT.

As a former hiring manager for Verizon I can agree that the quality of candidates that we were getting is nothing compared to what it was pre-COVID before Verizon made the brilliant idea to change the commission plan. When I first started with VZW 13 years ago as a Retail Sales Representative, the top tier Reps were making over 100k per year, fast forward 12 years and the average Rep makes about 40-45k per year. The difference in salesman is drastic! Back then we actually had Sales Professionals who wanted to make as much as they could, now we have a bunch of people who are more customer service driven and could care less about making sales, and a bunch of tenured Reps who complain about the money that they aren’t making, but yet refuse to go out and make the money that is possible. Verizon has created a mess in its Retail locations, and it’s a huge reason for the sh---y results that we’ve seen in terms of growth the past few years.

Make that 854,001 for T-Mobile and 7,999 for Verizon. I just switched yesterday. Ok, add it to 4th quarter. Why would I stay with the company when it didn't stay with me?

One thing about leaving Verizon is, you can only move up from that company. I only thank them for the lifeboat now before the rest of the Titanic goes under water.

All old my coworkers that were monsters at sales went to competitors. I can think of 5 of them just off the top of my head. Pcab, Winnercircles people. Literally doing the same exact job but for a rival. I mean I can't help but to think this was as designed on purpose but I have yet to see any ROI because even 2.5/3 years later no one produces even close to any of those people that left and the turn over is super high. We are spending so much on hiring, training and such for people to leave so quickly. What are theses recruiters telling people.
