Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT never fails to disappoint

This is a total mess. The way this company manages the cuts is always behind smoke and mirrors. Can't they at least manage cuts a little better? I'm so tired of all this.

It’s actually been pretty quiet for surpluses the past couple years. We were having them every year for several years. Typically they are small cuts, 5-10% and everyone freaks out. As long as you aren’t at the bottom on the list on your team you’re usually ok. Then the subsequent annual re-orgs that take place. Those were every year for a long time and always fun getting new bosses and starting your career trajectory over year after year after year. By the time you establish yourself with the new bosses, you get another new boss and start over. Terrible for advancement. We saw 0 promotions or advancement for years. So glad I got out of that team.

My favorite thing about T is that most of the time they give out bad news to their employees on Friday.

What are you doing to make things better in your immediate area? What is your solution to the problem?

Why do anything to make things better in your immediate area when the C-suite management has already made up their minds. They have their woke agenda and will not deviate from it! All we can do at this point is to hope we survive the next round or subsequent rounds to follow! Best of luck to all the employees that would like to remain employed in ATT!

My life is going nowhere. I'll just complain that the company is doing everything wrong so I don't have to look at my own life.

It's been like this every year since the 1984 divestiture by Judge Greene! Year after year, layoff after layoff, it's been, "Will I survive this year's layoff?" I'm pretty tired of it, but at this point do hope I'm affected by the layoffs if any!

I’m just wondering how much more they can cut. It’s been nothing but cut cut cut for a long time. Very few hires over the past few years. Idk what’s left to cut at this point.

Not surprising at all. Considering the pi-s poor leadership and equally inept managers pretending to be "leaders". What can we expect?
