Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Anyone experienced a PiP?

I think I’m heading towards a PiP unfortunately. {feel like it’s a multitude of factors both on my part and the orgs}

Just curious if anyone has experienced being placed on one?

I know of one person who in the past year was offered PiP or severance and took severance, but no info on what that looked like

Just trying to evaluate my options. Thanks for info in advance

I was hired in 2006, put on a pip for being right when everybody else was wrong withing 2 months, and layed-off in 2018. On a pip the whole time!

Yep, PIP means you will be fired 95% in 30 days. I’ve been on the other side and they’re a pain in the a-s. I’m guessing you’re not thrilled with Juniper or your manager so I’d use this opportunity to be a total di*k and force your manager to do a bunch of administrative cr-p to make the PIP happen. Quitting before would be letting him off the hook.

Really appreciate everyone’s advice!

I, thankfully, was able to see the writing on the wall far in advance and went ahead and began preparing my next steps {totally different direction}.

Was still wanting and trying to put in a conceited effort to turn things around. But feels like everything is just working against me and it’s not a right fit.

In terms of references, and any trusted colleagues. I’ve felt a little unwelcome on my current team since the beginning, even prior to performance being a big issue. So, I really appreciate you guys being kind and actually providing advice. I know this board can get a lil crazy sometimes haha.

I would advise yes interview out but wait for the severance . You deserve it , the company threatens you by making you think you should leave and they will skimp on the additional pay . No wonder they are removing the younger lots and retaining old fuds like us as they know we might just leave and they won’t have to pay us even if they know we ain’t interested enough to serve .

It's not good and sure to handled with the utmost inelegance as your manager tries to demonstrate that it's you not him/her. Even if you jump through all the hoops you will always be damaged goods. So, be patient, play the game, and look for something else. Then give 1 week notice as your F-you. Oh -- start thinking about references and if you have one trusted friend/colleague who is not a backstabber, confide in them to have an outlet and reality check for yourself.

Performance improvement plan. It is used as a means to fire someone. If a PIP discussion is coming request a package and leave. CK want all sales on a PIP. That was from SKO.
