With all these layoffs, year after year, quarter after quarter, it never ends; I just don't know why anyone work at HPE. It seems like a really horrible place to work.
Why don't you all just leave HPE en masse?

After recently being laid off (Work Force Reduction) I can honestly say that 99.999% (that's five nines) HPE's problem is Management. Horrible, Nepotistic Management Practices, and quite a few in management are id--ts. The Company itself is great. Although I worked for HPE 2.5 years 100% Telecommuter (although 3.46 miles from HPE Corporate Headquarters...more HPE logic I guess). The sad thing is, smart people work there and end up bouncing around like a ball in a Pachinko machine until they find a "safe haven" in which to do "be allowed" to do your job. Also, HPE seems he-l bent on buying other companies because they (themself) cannot provide a given offering....and that results (most of the time) in Work Force Reductions. I can only imagine the number of lives that will be ruined by HPE's acquisition of Juniper networks (if that ever happens). 60k plus full time employees |AND| that does not include its Vendor census of which totally dominates its workforce. No information sharing and very little documentation due to behavioral protectionism, and everything is in India. I dislike Trump. However, if Trump would completely outlaw H1B visas that would totally make my day (I'd still hate him though). I do not see HPE being around much longer....or maybe HPE will be purchased by Infosys.
stockholm syndrome...
You know that HPE is not a good place to be when managers and directors start to jump ship. At least half of my former coworkers left after I did.
As for me, I make a lot more money and I have really increased my technical skills since leaving. The Crypt Keeper, who threatened to lay me off if I didn’t accept the early retirement package, did me a favor. My world has opened up to new possibilities.
It is a horrible place. Toxic at many levels, but since we need to work we thrive in the toxicity and drink the cool aid.
Run if you can otherwise wait for the lay off, or make good friends with a higher up to avoid being sacked.
No, it isn't. It's a terrible place. Great places don't lay people off this frequently.
I also got layed off in 2020. I hated the last 5 years of watching there. I worked for and with je-ks.
I really enjoy working at HPE. I know I am fortunate to enjoy my role, and I do worry about layoffs, but I try to stay positive and keep working hard.
There are lots of great people at the company, and I learn a lot every week.
Oh Teri! What have you done .blind pursuit of Juniper acquisition and letting your business sync and firing own employees to make way for Juniper 10 k employees
HPE is not a terrible company to work for. Even though I was laid off in 2020 (hard to believe that it’s already been five years), I still keep in touch with my old colleagues, at least those who remain that is; many of them have left. I enjoyed working with them. The work, compared to other companies that I’ve worked for, is honestly very easy but not very rewarding.
However, I can’t say that I like HPE’s bureaucratic nature, but that’s just large companies are. Executives are two-faced and all they care about are their investors. Frankly I’m surprised that the board hasn’t booted Antonio. I didn’t like how everyone and every organization practically competed against each other to get the bonuses and raises they wanted.
When I was in college in the 2000s hp was the vanguard of places to work after you graduate. If you hap on your resume you were guaranteed an interview at least. Nowadays it's a place that will give you ptsd and anxiety issues.
Yeah you got it. That’s my problem with hpe. Its that they want people to work to earn a paycheck. I prefer a company who pays for no work at all. It’s not that they have been laying off almost continuously for the past 25 yrs. No that’s not the problem. It’s definitely the work thing.
Whoa, those are some harsh words bro. You mean the company actually wants me to work to get a paycheck.
As a very long term employee working at both the former HP and now HPE this is still a great place to work. Yes, we experience layoffs on a regular basis but that's no different than any other large corporation. The only way to guarantee yourself employment is to start your own business other than that su-k it up do your job and you'll be fine.
