Now that the VRSP portal has closed I’m sure they know where they need to cut and by how much… for those of us that did not take the package when will we know if we’re canned or not?

How will we know if our department is getting laid off after 5/1/25? Do they not create a schedule? I'm looking for signs to watch for following yesterday's news, as I want to stay alert and prepared.
Any updates?? I haven’t heard anything and they are still running business as if nothing is going on.
Some departments will see layoffs.
It's very frustrating. I had a job offer for an upcoming training class then was notified after several weeks that the role was no longer available due to a change in business needs. Then I find out that the department I'm currently in is starting a training class in a few weeks. This company makes absolutely no sense. I've worked for several other insurance companies, and I have to say UHC by far isn't the greatest.
Basically others heard about the offer and wanted to take advantage of the Severance package as well. No they weren’t extended the same offer is what I was told.
What do you mean by "large outreach by other departments?" Was the buyout extended beyond the initial 30k under Mike Baker or did they honor for others who asked for it outside of this area?
At this point they need to let us know if we are being laid off or not. I didn’t take the package but coming into work not knowing if you will have a job or not is stressful. Nobody knows if the VRSP was a success or not and nobody knows if it will be in April or May if they decide to do the massive layoff. I heard they did a massive layoff around April 17 or 18th of last year. If that is true and they do it again around that time this year then it is what it is. We need to know and stop playing around and keeping secrets. It’s either you are going to do it or not. I’m tired of waiting and not knowing.
No layoffs for now.
My understanding is that the VRSP program was successful . They hit their numbers and have had a large outreach from other departments. With that being said I still don’t know how to feel in regards to job safety but up on watching the news what I do know is that to have employment right now is a BLESSING do what u can and hold your job down. M&R may not face this mass layoff after all and I’m happy to hear that. But I’m cautious. I am going to expand my skills take some IT courses and just remain prepared for the job market
I found out last week that my team is being moved to another director effective 3/23. They are doing re-orgs for those who are staying. Roles are not being backfilled.
I definitely want to know what’s going on it’s weird my manager is coaching me on metrics and QVC and I’m like huh ?? Will we even be here after May 1 ?? I would like to keep my job but honestly
The amount of anxiety this has caused me is irreversible
Your personal work ethic should not be driven by this or any company. You should be invested and work well as a reflection of your own personal character, knowledge, and ability in everything that requires your input until your final task is done.
I work at UHC and from a reliable source I'm understanding that in a meeting a department lead was talking about new hire classes coming this summer. They were questioned about why are we hiring when we're laying off. They said that the response of VRSP from departments not threatened by lay offs as well as O&E was greater than expected. Hopefully that's a light at the end of the tunnel and all the 65+ people still working decided to move on and take it. What I don't understand is that Witty makes 23 million a year. He's the captain of the ship. It's his decisions that allowed a system to not have enough security. His decisions that's brought on all the fines and lawsuits. The captain needs to go down with the ship. How many jobs would be saved if they fired him and hired someone else for even half of what he makes
A little off topic, but has anyone else experienced coworkers having an attitude toward you for taking the payout and suddenly assigning you an extreme amount of work? I would think that possibly my leaving would save someone else’s job, but apparently it just pi**ed off a couple of them. It’s not my boss or a majority, it’s just a couple of people, but it’s making me uncomfortable.
I, too, would like to know this information. They are acting business as usual and still assigning out projects but I'd like to know how invested I should be in these projects if they are planning to sack me in like 2 weeks.
