Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

6 Day RTO coming to Atlanta

AVP here and could not divulge this rumor until now. Since I was given a friendly heads up that I’m going to be let go in the near future I’ve decided to let go of some rumors.

6 day RTO is coming to Atlanta in June. You will begin hearing about these changes in late April with your assignments communicated in early May. Due to failed consolidation efforts and capacity overrun's we will be switching to a 2 track system for RTO.
(Mon-Fri and Tues-Sat) with a 4 week rotation.

You can thank the wild miscalculation on the decision to move all of ATS to one primary location along with the wind down efforts of DEI due to our federal contracts requiring us to do so. This has created overcrowding that will not be alleviated by attrition alone in the near term.

Enjoy your Sunday and we appreciate you.

Management will never be forced to work Tuesday-Saturday. Nice fake post, bud. Some appear to believe it since no one would doubt Stinkleton considering it.

That stuff is not going to fly in bedminster. Nj has crazy strict labor laws compared to the south.

Supervising supervisor here. Starting 3rd week in March employees will be required to go head to head each morning forming two lines leading to a match up of either a game of Twister or a game of Operation. The winner of each game will be instructed to promptly exit the building and WFH that day. This will allow a steady and fair balance of capacity relief for the building each day. There will undoubtedly be complaints of racism as certain genders and ethnicities are unable to contort their bodies in Twister and have fat mitten hands for the delicate game of operation. To make things fair, Jeremy will spray all white men over the age of 50 with pepper spray right before each matchup. The hunger games continue.

I also does confirm that rotational rotations of said rotating of schedule is soon standard for I and team. No operation changes for I and said team are necessary because we already do said rotation each of the days. This does allow samir to milk the goats, rakesh to work in call center and suhil to build suitcase in nearby shoppe.

With the tracking “perfection” of the Presence Reports, we should be able to setup more hybrid in-office models to help with parking and workspace availability, not to mention general employee dissatisfaction.
A friend of mine worked at Chevron HQ years ago and they worked a two-week schedule with 9 hour days for M-F and then M-Th of following week. If you worked those 81 hours, you got that Friday off. Considering I’m getting 9-10 hrs/day now, I’d be open to that. Offer that you can stack up your Friday off-days for use during the middle of a future week if needed (within reason).
Considering the way we work today, I’m not completely bought in that the fear of Presence Reporting RTO is driving or promoting collaboration within teams and I sure know it has negatively impacted culture.
HR - you know this is a problem. Real Estate has told you it’s a problem. If you released them, eNPS surveys would tell you the problem. Attrition is not at the rates you hoped; no matter how difficult you make the day. Get creative and get your employees excited. You might be surprised how the company can perform and that your customers can be taken care of.

I wish they would do 4days x 10hr shifts. Folks are spending 2 hours driving a day in dallas.

Question for OP, are u being let go because they are reducing GM headcount?

I’m the chief of staff for an SVP and I heard this is true for some groups. Our group is going to have schedules available for bidding by seniority. Some of the schedules won’t have back to back days off. This is all for needs of the business.

SVP here. The rumors are true, we will be making changes to RTO. Following the same successful '3 Wave' approach we previously used with RTO, the first wave will involve everyone adopting a 6 day RTO. That will be in place for a 4 mos soak period before we eventually ramp up to the second wave 7 day RTO which will be followed by the ultimate goal of an 8 day work week.
