Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Why wait until next week?

Why can’t we know now if we’re being let go or not? If contractors have already been notified, why not us? It’s just so unfair. Isn’t it inhumane to make us wait a whole week? The stress is unbearable and it feels like we’re stuck in limbo. How much more do we need to endure before this is over?!

We deserve to know now!

I feel for you but really it's been this way for months now. As sad as it is, we should all be used to it by now.

You work for a company that lets people die for profit. Consider this your chance to avoid he-l.

The latest org announcement email included the line "As we continue aligning our teams to our new structures and work, additional, smaller-scope announcements will likely occur. These will be communicated as they are developed." Soooooooo I guess they consider that keeping us all informed lmao

There were layoffs on a pay week recently. I surprised me, it was when all the health coaches were JE'd.

It really su-ks. FTE are fired on certain days every single month though, vs. contractors can be fired any old day. This kind of stuff is one of the downsides of working for such a massive company, that with things like job eliminations it is SO structured that sometimes individual feelings and stressors are not accounted for.

I feel you. Contractors are told in advance because, the company has a relationship with the contracting company. FTE's are fired without notice.
