He came to VZ as the 4th string QB from a little globalist company called Airtouch Communications which did a deal with Euro telecom giant Vodafone which essentially undid the merger with Bell Atlantic and GTE which would become Verizon.
Bell Atlantic had a non-compete agreement with Air Touch Communications/PrimeCo in All of GTE's biggest cash-cow wireless markets. When VOD beat out Bell Atlantic over Airtouch....the rest is history. This is the story of how a fly on the tail of a dog was able to wag the entire dog and still does.
