Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Atlanta Open Seating

People who leave personal items on shared work stations have been getting their stuff thrown in the garbage all week. Everyone is tired of this BS if it is shared you can't hold it with personal pictures, office supplies, and electronics. It's all going in the trash!

If employees would wake up and see what is going on we can make all our lives easier. Find a space and sit there daily. If you see the same person sitting in the same space everyday then find another space and call it your own. Unless you are just playing into the B.S. to try to make life miserable for everyone or perhaps just an a*hole. They told us what our neighborhoods are so we can bull sht collaborate. Find you neighborhood and sit there and do not be a je-k. If so, life would be better for everyone. It is the je-ks that just want to cause chaos and go and sit in a seat they know has been occupied by the same org for the past six months.

newsflash we are all in the same boat

Actually no, we aren't in the same boat. Directors and above are putting their names on private offices. What they require of the rest of us should apply to them also. If I can't get a reserved desk to use every day when I have to go in 5x, why should they? I've yet to see where it says that some people DO get reserved spots.

"We have plenty of seating in Atlanta."

Have you seen what is happening on the 3rd floor at Lenox. Multiple people sitting on the couches, not collaborating with each other. One guy brings his own cube dividers and sits at the break room table. All the conference rooms and huddle rooms are permanently occupied. Yes, there is plenty of seating in the cafeteria still. Of course, there is no place to park.

If a corporate laptop is left unattended and not cable locked to the desk it is a violation of company policy.

Power down the laptop.

Overload Asset Protection with reports.

(Or gorilla glue the asset to the desk)

Buy a low cost automatic air freshener dispenser. Replace with fa-t spray or liquid a$$.
Hide it in a cube. The cube will be unoccupied and waiting for you in the morning.
Unplug it while you are sitting there. You’re welcome.

"I don't want to have to battle it out with ridiculous childish people playing games to hold desks everyday and cheat the system."

You are encouraged to participate in this, it's called collaboration and culture. It's what they want.

Saw this on the second floor of 1425. People there are very rude and act like they own the area.

Where is this? I’ll be in at 4am and ruin it for them tomorrow.

Lmao two women were screaming at each other today at Lennox over this because someone got there early and sat in an open work station and put all the other woman's things on the floor by the wall. I was laughing so hard she should be glad it wasn't thrown in the trash

I just want to go to work, do my job, have a place to sit and work while I do my job, and then go home. I don't have an agenda against RTO or anything I just literally want to do what I'm paid to do so I can pay my bills and live my life. I don't want to have to battle it out with ridiculous childish people playing games to hold desks everyday and cheat the system. I need AT&T to do it's part and stop this nonsense so I can focus on my job and I know everyone else on my team feels the same. We are tired of it being a war zone every morning over a f'ing desk ffs

You all are thining about this wrong take pictures of all the desks taken and being "used" already and keep them so if they try to enforce presence you can use it in court later document everything email and cc your personal email everyday telling your supervisor there are not seats available and you refuse to sit in an unsafe place that doesnt meet OSHA ergonomics requirements then go home

What is with people hiding the keyboards from workstations to stop people from using them? Is it just my office I am starting to see that?

They literally have the couches and lounge chairs listed as "workspaces" on the SharePoint in Dallas lmao and they violate our own EH&S policies i am so over this circus

"I'm filing an EH&S complaint being forced to sit at a couch that doesn't meet the ergonomics standards that the company mandated ergonomics PLE training says I must follow. They claim these are seats for capacity planning but are a magnet for carpel tunnel."

People holding spots with their personal st all over, leaving old laptops and jackets to make you think they got there already that day, coming in at 5am dropping their stuff off then going to the gym or whatever and not coming back until 11am, and even hiding keyboards so no one else uses the desk are all things I've been seeing. What a cluster! RTO isn't the issue, the issue is not enough desks to assign work stations and leaving it to us to fight and argue over seats every day just to do our dn jobs.

Quit relying on the company to make people play fair. They never will.

Amatures put pictures or personal items on desks. The best way to hold your spot is to leave a jacket on the chair and an old laptop on the desk and no one will ever sit there thining someone got there that morning before them. There is no winning by doing the "right" thing it is every person for themselves. Quit relying on the company to make people play fair. They never will.

Not just the personal items left on open desks. How about the people booking focus rooms every day all day for months in advance? Floor planning does nothing to enforce their policies so those of us trying to do the right thing just get sc--wed

In Dallas it is getting bad I shouldn't have to throw things away. The people putting out these maps of where we are supposed to sit by org should throw all these people's things away. It shouldn't be my problem. Our team of a few folks are supposed to sit in a certain area according to their map but all the desks have other people's things on them so we are forced to work from couches with no monitors. If it's drop in open seating then the floor planning team needs to enforce it. So sick of not having a seat even getting to work at 6am!!

There is no assigned seating.

That’s the policy.

So if I’m in before you, I am sitting wherever I want.

I won’t throw stuff away but I will clear it off the desk.

Those people think they’re better than everyone else. Newsflash we are all in the same boat and all of these seats are first come first served. You can’t stroll in at 9:15 and expect to get the same seat every day. Then they bi--h about people sitting in “their” seat.
