Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Starting an AIP thread

Starting a master post to track aip payout percentage or dollar amount as people find out (would be interesting to also know for comparison what the target full payout would be).

Telling people not to complain just ensures unbalanced power dynamics. This company touts its AIP to recruit and retain talent, therefore it is our right to bi--h when AIP su-ks. Are we lucky to have jobs at the moment, yes but that can change in a heartbeat with this company. So I understand we should be “thankful” but you’re forgetting that we factored in the AIP as part of compensation package when we took this job. I guess if we want corporations to continue to sc--w us over then we “ should just be happy we have jobs” and soon enough we’ll stop getting pay increases altogether.

Talk about privileged. Getting a bonus that most companies don’t offer and yet bi--hing about it. Poor babies. On a layoff site complaining about having a job while others lose their jobs. Make so much sense on the direction of this country. Leave if you find anyone that would hire your a$$.

The guy who made this post above is the real baby. ^^ You obviously dont know jack sht homboy.

52% AIP. Merit Raise of 2.9%. I am tired of busting my a-s and not getting my worth... ELV is turning into SH-T SHOW. This is lowest AIP SINCE 2008.

@hn you just said an entire mouthful! Some of us worker bees depend on AIP desperately to stand in the gap for what we aren’t getting throughout the year. To get necessities that we have struggled and sacrificed and done without during the year because we can’t afford it. For them to turn around and say here’s some pocket change for you after you’ve busted your a-s the entire year while they’re raking in 6 and 7 figure payouts is preposterous.
And for those folks saying well at least we still have a job remember this: tomorrow is an off payday Thursday. Keep that same energy after they hand you the pink slip.

E15 and above seem to get stock. It is not talked about until you're eligible. It's possible for exceeds of lower levels to get special awards for retention purposes, but it's still 3 years of measured vesting. Be for real with all the "you shouldn't complain" nonsense. People worked their tails off for this company all year. The company doesn't exist without worker bees. The worker bees are who are getting sc--wed by this. Leaders, who spend the money and make the terrible decisions, do not. Were this an actual great place to work, there would be less complaints about AIP and raises. The complaints are because people put up with sh---y treatment thinking they'd be rewarded in the end. They weren't. Talking about how lucky you are to have a job is fine. Of course you are, but your comp should be in line with your efforts. It isn't. Couple that with RTO and constant gaslighting about "more with less but you're so appreciated" is a bit much. The company is so good at sh-----g on the worker bees and demotivating people, it should be studied for how not to run a business. Do you think if you su-k it up and still give it your all this year that they'll make it up to you or that you'll be safe from rif or rebadge? Parts of the company are a rapidly sinking ship and they are going to let you go down with it. Can't wait to hear about record q1 profits once they've rifed, rebadged and paused enough projects to make the balance sheet positive. That's exactly why you see so much rehiring within a couple months. It's all a temp solution in lieu of a real strategy. It's about keeping up appearances quarterly, not building a business worth contributing to.

50% with 3% raise. Far less than I have been used to but thankful to still have a job. Still preparing for a bleak next 4 years of uncertainty.

AIP $2700 and 2.5 % raise. GBD BH. What a joke! Can’t wait to send out my resume. I will never accept that trash. This is a multi billion dollar company. They can ride someone else in the ground. It won’t be me. I am going to Act My Wage.

I was Rif'd with the last day in November, the exit paperwork said I was eligible for AIP. I have no idea if they'll send me a % notice or if I'll just get a payment and i'll have to figure it out. But based on what everyone is posting, it looks like it will be Happy Meal money.

May be I am too naive to realise people get stocks during AIP. Never heard of it. I thought thats for senior executives..

Anyone not getting stock, here's how that works because it appears so much better than it is.

  1. Your stock is not available to sell. So for anyone thinking the person with 30k in stock gets that right now....that's wrong.
  2. Stock vests over 3 years so your 30k is actually 10k per year after year 1, but only if you sell it and pay tax consequences.

So yes, stock is nice but it's not aip. It's not instantly paid. They can say it's a long term incentive because it's supposed to keep people here for the full 3 years, but in our culture, you can be rifed or rebadged before that so it's actually just words on paper. Not an actual award of anything. For my money, they bank on you leaving before it's paid out.

Exactly how much su-king and blowing (and running information from peers back to management) does it require to get more than a 2% merit? I am told by management that I excel at my work and am a high performer, and every year still, a 2% merit with a Meets ranking. What gives in this work environment? I haven't been around long enough to know the game yet, I guess.....

You guys are all b!tchin about AIP. Be happy you have a job that pays you well. If your AIP was great like previous years you would still find a reason to b!tch and complain. Love it or leave it. Was just a bad year.

I understand that there are people here making a lot of money. But to bi--h about 32k in stock options is gross. Your 32% in AIP is still way more than what average employee is making. I guess the more money you make the more outrage you feel but come on. We all knew AIP was gonna su-k. The company is doing this to get more people to leave. AIP was one of the few things that set them apart from other companies. Once they start consistently paying less on AIP they will have trouble with hiring people. AIP meant at least a 7,000 more than what another company would pay that didn’t. Take AIP away and I make the same somewhere else. This was done on purpose to make people leave on their own

@db - you get AIP plus stock options? I thought that at the higher ranks it was one or the other, not both. On the good side of things, by the time the options are vested, they’ll be practically worthless as the stock price keeps dropping.
Why is everything so broken?
