You know Verizon is not doing well (or not treating its employees well, at least) when a rumor of layoffs is no longer seen by most of us as something to fear but as an opportunity. Instead of fearing layoffs, so many of us are welcoming them. Tell me that's not screwed up?

Our group is definitely fearing them. The job market isn’t as hot as it was a year ago. And few companies offer great benefits like VZ (time off, med plans etc).
This tells me the workforce is over-compensated for the work they are doing
