Why are you gatekeeping employees time? You have no way of knowing if people were on PTO or not.
Yet OP had time to go to all three of those places on Friday, lol.. clearly wasn’t doing much either.

PS - I could work 8 hours a week and do more work than 99% of directors and senior directors. Maybe go bark up that tree.
Maybe I’m taking time back because I came in early and had to work late every day m-th. Nothing about how we work says you need to work specific hours. We are not hourly employees being monitored like children and some of us output 3x that of others in 1/2 the time, even though we are paid the same. Does that mean I need to put I. More hours? I don’t think so.

Although I agree with the comment that says that this doesn't necessarily have to mean something, true is that Friday afternoon, good luck getting an answer on Slack or any answer at all. Folks checkout at lunch time at best. I'd understand that if everyone was giving 9 hours (summer hours), but yeah, "slacking" on Friday is a common thing around.
That being said, probably a reflex of the need for mental health recover.
Why are you there, instead of working from home?
