In any event ... I'm not going in. Two years ago I moved ~90 miles away from my reporting location, and have been WFH ever since. Obviously, I'm not commuting that distance everyday.

Looks like it was yet another false alarm. I knew that JD didn't have the ba--s!

No you don’t have too. It is your choice and nobody can force you to do so in a democracy society or company. Only dictator can force you against your will to benefit them.
There are exceptions to every rule. You will have to find them for yourself.
Stay in the boonies and amtrak in amiga. Or if you are in delaware i can rent a room during the week
Did a few interviews with them few years ago. I decided to join another company. I’m glad I did! Staying fully remote since then. More than 70% of my company is WFH. We are doing well!
I see on LinkedIn plenty of openings with annotations “on-site”. Good luck hiring top notch technical staff JPMorons.
That's why these corrupt clowns flooded the labor market.
Unless you are special, you are disposable.
I wonder if you will get a severance if they let you go.
They had to give some many days notice for change in work requirements. The time had passed so you need to get in if your family is counting on the income. It su-ks and unfortunately you have no grounds to beat this since they told us before to stay within reason to the sites you were hired out of.
Or if you are in America, you can stay in a hotel or Airbnb. LOL.
Could ypu stay at a hostel during the week? Then return to your off the grid camp on the weekend?
Good Luck! Not a bluff.
I would error on the side of caution, if your job is important to you.
I think this situation is rather common of moving outside of the footprint (Which BTW our WFH agreement stated we needed to stay within a reasonable distance to a site). regardless, Chase has implemented some accommodations for those that need to re-locate. I would recommend communicating openly with your management team to obtain some of these accommodations before being a no call no show.
Or maybe you are the one bluffing and either are ok with ending your employment or fully intend on making that drive. 90 miles, where I live is not unheard of for driving into the office daily. even from my house it's over an hour drive each way, but you don't hear me complaining. if I look for a different job that's my prerogative and not something I will threaten my manager with and not really their problem... the moving out of reasonable distance was a gamble you took when you moved, and I think you know that.
Yes, JD made it exceedingly clear that if you refuse then you will be terminated.
