Venting and offering solutions here probably won’t change much, since plenty of people still want to stay despite the messed-up career options. Don’t waste your energy—focus on what you can actually control.

Overall good post but I think you are being a bit over simplistic.
There are more than 3 things that motivates people besides money, work-life balance and career growth (e.g., passion / wanting to make a difference, enjoying the people you work with).
“This is why people get laid off—misaligned expectations for the role.”
Do you really believe that this is the only reason people get laid off?
It all depends on what you’re seeking in life. I see many people on here upset due to a decision or layoff that shifted them from a good place to a worse one or left them feeling indifferent.
Corporations are constantly evolving, and once you accept that, it becomes easier to move on. There are three key factors to consider: 1. Is money your priority? 2. Is career growth important to you? 3. How crucial is work-life balance? It’s nearly impossible to have all three at the same time, though it can happen.
Everyone’s on their own journey with different opportunities—or a lack thereof. Company policies also play a role in this, so weigh them when deciding whether to stay or switch jobs.
I’ve seen too many people chasing money when they should have been focused on their career goals. Nike is what you make of it; you might want work-life balance, but your current role might not allow for that. This is why people get laid off—misaligned expectations for the role.
No matter where you go, these will always be present..
Pretty much the same everywhere. If you don’t like it, you’re feee to leave
Nike is love, Nike is life.
My identity is Nike. Living in NW Portland and wearing head to toe Nike. Half my paycheck goes to product drops. I have 50 pairs of shoes, I wish I had more. I can’t get a promotion at Nike but Nike is my personality. I moved here from Ohio for Nike and I’m not going back.
Just Be Not Nike.
