Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Things to do in the office

Been watching Severance (on Apple TV) the last couple of days in the office. Super good show, metaphorically relevant

Severance was filmed at the location that used to be AT&T Bell Labs back in the day.

I have plenty of work if you need something to actually earn your pay. What a loser.

No lie. Severance filmed at Bell Labs in NJ. Totally based on working at T.

“Most get 80% to 100% of their salary in their pension. I know a C R A P load of them and they go out two or three times a week for a $400 meals..”

Oh, I’m sorry then - you’re absolutely right. They deserve to be unceremoniously fired, without cause, and humiliated by an unelected tech tycoon and MAGA zealot who is making BILLIONS off of his government contracts.

Strike you as just a little hypocritical? Guess you’re too busy sizing up your buddy’s pension. And on that note- you should maybe do your homework about government pensions. Payout is only substantial with long-term tenure just like it is for any company including ours which is why Stankey is working any angle to offload anyone nearing their date.

"Enough about Federal employees already. Public, private - they’re employees just like us."

Wrong!

Most get 80% to 100% of their salary in their pension. I know a C R A P load of them and they go out two or three times a week for a $400 meals, with co-ktails.

Not even the Stink gets that!

It is funny. It is like everyone posting on here knows they have a useless job and just waiting to be terminated.

Enough about Federal employees already. Public, private - they’re employees just like us. They were hired to do a job, have accountability as we all do in performing their jobs, and have dependencies as we all most certainly do to provide for their families!! Can’t say the same for Musk and Trump who have ZERO perspective and fwiw need to cut fed gov expenses to offset tax cuts for the wealthy. If you're not seeing the end game I can only assume you’ve also bought into AT&T’s lies about the drivers for RTO.

Open office, so no privacy. Definitely not able to watch movies or anything. I get my job done and just watch the clock, surf internet a bit, walk around the office.

If only we could get Federal Doge severance. Something like 8 months, must be nice but the probationary employees are whining. They knew going in their job could be cut at anytime. Don’t remember anyone screaming, cursing and singing for all the energy employees fired by Biden during his first month in office with the green new scam.
