Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

YTR Statements Released

Merit increases were reasonable in a range of 2-3.5%. Although it is frustrating to have your leadership skim off money from your pool to give to others.

If you got above 4% just know that it means you’re UNDERPAID by comparison across your peers. Thats the only reason you’ll ever see something higher than 4%. It really has nothing to do with your rating or rank. Maybe .5% extra.

first time getting achieves/effective after several yrs of on and off extraordinary/excels. anyone else experienced this?

Yup, I'm in the same boat. Adding insult to injury, the extremely positive comments I was given were fully written by AI (checked with ZeroGPT) and made it seem like I should have received exemplary.

It's fine if they want to use AI for feedback, as long as it matches the rating. Can't improve if there's no actionable feedback.

Pretty sure they're being told to stop being so generous with reviews.

The only people making more are Govt employees. Maybe it’s time someone looks at the Govt to save mo why there and lowering our taxes. Lower taxes= a raise for all.
It amazes me anyone wouldn’t want the
Govt to slash spending to get a raise.
There’s more than one way to get a raise people.

HR here, it's been the norm. HRBPs review the budget and numbers and advise (aka force ) the leaders to move the dollars around, with no exceptions. Especially for those in the mid to high TSR ranges. The talk track would be if they are a great performer those extra dollars could be given in a connection award outside sales channels. I will tell you that is BS because we reduced the amount given out this year from last. It's the latest squeeze to save dollars. 2025 will be even more difficult to give them out because of budgets. Gotta love this company!

*6.6% last year. If not at least 5% this year, I’ll be walking."

Good luck with that. Anything above 5% is usually to better align salaries in range if not associated with a change of title/job description. 6.6% in not the norm, and neither is 5%.

“After taxes and RTO travel cost, I’m actually losing money this year.”

Travel costs to the office were always included as part of your salary.

An extra 91 cents per hour for working your a$$ off.

The difference between 2.0% for Meets ($2,500) and the 3.5% for Exemplary ($4,400) for a lousy $1,900 more than if I just badged in and was watching Netflix at my desk. After taxes and RTO travel cost, I’m actually losing money this year. Time to start slacking or start looking.

  1. 59% exceeds rating. Haven’t seen +3% in a very long time. Just falling further behind. Good thing I’m interviewing externally. Pay and benefits have fallen so far behind here.
