Grass is always greener on the other side. Verizon did their slash and burn over the last decade.
Uhhh, any chance they’ll seek mediocre ‘talent’? 😏
The end of the article says the below. I’ve already called and hope you all will call too so we can bring more attention to this hostile work environment that is more like an abusive relationship.
If you are an AT&T or Verizon worker who wants to share your perspective, please contact Dominick via email or text/call/Signal at 646.768.4750. Responses will be kept confidential, and Business Insider strongly recommends using a personal email and a nonwork device when reaching out.
They aren't poaching top talent. They rejected my application and I'm a top performer.
I was immediately snapped up by a competing MNO.
Good.
T can reap what it sows. FAFO.
they are not poaching top talent, I haven't been called
Top talent from AT&T. You must be having a laugh
I hope my coworkers flee to the competitor. It helps save my job.
I knew this headline was fake when it mentioned top talent at T.
Already interviewing.
"...Listings for several full-time positions said they required at least eight days in the office a month, as determined by a manager."
Yes. It's called a hybrid schedule.
In the office 2 days per week.
Which is still, despite the nonsense you read here, what the majority of large companies offer. As they recognize what their employees want and the resulting benefits as far as employee morale and a healthy work/ life balance,
BTW-- I know plenty of managers at VZ, and this is a "loose" requirement. They are not monitoring badge swipes, LAN time, phone use. They have not built extensive and flawed reporting that their VPs on up peruse daily, looking to bring the hammer down on someone that showed 6 hours for one day last month. Their employees don't feel compelled to take pics of themselves in front of a clock onsite, and send it to their Boss daily.
AT&T will have to adjust its unjust 5x8 RTO in order to compete for top talent. Will they tho is the question. Seems like all they care about is cutting headcount no matter who. Very short sighted. I for one will be checking out Verizon. 2 days a week makes plenty of sense. 5 days does not.
As someone who's been through this, let me tell you how it goes. The young, the well-educated, and the high performers will all leave. They have options. The barnacles, the layabouts, the noxious do-nothings will hang on for dear life. The result? An entire company staffed with indolent, cognitively inert, technologically illiterate pre-retirees. If you think AT&T is bad now -- just wait.
I am in the process of being poached lol. Been getting recruitment letters and messages. I’m seeing what they offer. T is the worst of the big 3 by far, especially now with RTO.
I got a recruitment email from them. Very smart on their part.
