Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Stank is pitching softballs to his successor

The next guy/gal can return to hybrid work schedule and immediately have the workforce on their side. Not to mention a great PR talking point "on my first day, we reduced CO2 emissions by 40%"

They say you never want to be the one to replace a legendary head coach. This is the opposite of that situation.

This will never happen. After Stinky it’s McSelfish. The RTO rules will not change. There is too much debt and not enough innovation or new revenue. Only way left to pay down the debt is with your job.

Well, it seems Stankey is mentored by the guy in his mirror. When a human only listens to one set of views it's going to limit him. Applies to every human.

"Why stop at 3? Us “youngsters” want full time WFH and no RTO, fu-k it. No days in office is best for us"

That would be the 2nd year "accomplishment" for the new leader. Can't get all the goodness in one fell swoop.

The tax implications you mention total to less than $1bn. Honestly hardly makes a difference to the bottom line.

Switch to WFH and close up shop in most extraneous locations (besides Dallas/Atlanta/NJ) and the annual run-rate savings will be much higher than the tax breaks you mentioned. Not very hard to figure out.

Lots of dummies work here.

The RTO won’t change. It has tax implications that the company won’t walk away from.

Get used to it.

They gave him a promotion. It’s not just the Stank. It’s the whole entire board of directors
