wondering if this will be like Amazon, where they make it pretty clear that exceptions to RTO will be unicorn-rare

When Cisco has an average tenure of 2 years then it will be like Amazon. Right now Cisco is the Titanic of retirement cruises.

So many bootlickers in these threads are the same people who will refuse to work by bothering those that do while in office. I don't care about your golf game buddy.

This is just a continuation of MM's efforts to cut costs in CX by encouraging people to quit instead of an LR.

From the FAQ:

CX's hybrid refresh expectation is aligned with Cisco's overarching hybrid work policy. _(How? The Cisco policy is to work in the office AS NEEDED OR DESIRED.)_ We are building on this foundation by providing more specific clarity and guidance tailor to our CX team. _(We're setting mandates, not clarity.)_ We will ensure a smooth transition by considering country-specific laws and regulations _(to cover our a-s)_. To achieve this, we are implementing a phased approach that allows us to thoughtfully plan and accommodate any necessary adjustments _(to increase or back off depending on how many people quit)_. This proactive strategy is designed to offer ample lead time for both our teams and leadership to prepare and adapt effectively.

We are asking employees and teams to refresh their hybrid work expectations to ensure a unified approach to customer support and tight alignment across the Customer Experience organization. Being in the office enhances community, boosts collaboration, and expands cross-training opportunities, allowing us to better meet our business needs and deliver a consistent customer experience.

There are advantages to coming into the office, even if your direct team is not at your site. As more employees return, you'll have the opportunity to engage with colleagues, peers, mentors, leadership, and broader teams _(who aren't coming back in YET!)_, enhancing your sense of community.

Is anyone buying this BS or verbal spin they’re putting on this? This reads like a Press secretary Leavitt statement of alternative facts.

RTO should 5-days mandatory across the company. Honeymoon period is over. Get back to work at office and collaborate.

I will resist RTO cause I have gotten use to mom bringing me breakfast and lunch while I work in my recliner. The fact that I am logged in during working hours is really what matters, right?

@a7+1jmyvqvcy For certain groups within CX. Not even all of CX. It would be impossible since Cisco closed/sold off more than half their offices

Is this just for CX or company wide?

That's how they will layoff half the company without paying out a dime.

true

like at Amazon, pushback = noncompliance = termination with cause = no severance

Yep. That's how they will layoff half the company without paying out a dime. Think of the SVPs like congress critters - they su-k the teet dry while making all their employees bend over for them. Disgusting company.

likely no promo, raise, etc. in the future.

makes sense, don't want immediate disruption, just make people feel unwelcome

either relocate for Cisco or you relocate for your next employer...the days of living in Je-kwater and getting a NYC salary are done (it was fun while it lasted!)
