Well, I’ve decided to accept the buyout offer. I’m hopeful that I’ll be approved to receive the VRSP payout. I’ve been with the company for 12 years, and I’ll certainly miss my job. However, I’m eager for a change and a new chapter in my life. I couldn’t bear the thought of “waiting it out” and the anxiety that comes with not knowing if or when layoffs might occur. I’m praying for all those affected and that you make the best decision for yourself and your family.

UHC and Optum only care about the higher ups. Proven time and time again
Me too! I’ve been with UHC for 12 years in August and I’m mentally exhausted. I think it’s time.
This was a good choice. With AI capabilities being brought into UHG where they can change offshore agents’ voices to sound “American”, the company is going to continue to move jobs offshore where labor is cheaper. That and bots and digital initiatives are taking away jobs.
I'm taking it too for a similar reason. I got very strange vibes with how it was initially presented. I don't want to live like that. I'd rather see this as an opportunity so I took it.
Sorry the associates at United Health are having to go through job loss, but be thankful they're offering a buyoout option. Anthem and other companies are just RIFing their associates in the US due to offshore hiring. It's sad and wrong for many reasons. The anxiety as mentioned by a commenter for United, is stressful as you await the possibility of job loss. It's all about the money for the CEO, other higher ups & stakeholders. It's not about associates or their members. Good luck to all of you.
Gotten a response yet??
Congratulations to you for taking the next step to controlling your career destiny. This is most certainly the hardest time for us all, so sending positive energy and vibes your way!
