Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

NIke CFO and Kabal must go

This CFO is incredulous. he is laughable, he is just plain not smart. I've been in several meetings with him and he is not the right guy. Neither is his number 2. she has openly mocked finance colleagues, lacks leadership and doesn't even have the technical competence. The large finance function in sebco is all talking about this the cast of characters that has been put in place and even recently promoted to VP are all weak, are imposters and have benefited from the peter principle.

They need to go...

@ ez+1jmn3n4tg. The real question is, Who does number two work for?

Which one do you think is the #2?

Not to quibble, but you said the CFO is "not smart" and that his "kabal" must go in the same post.

'K'abal is a character from Mortal 'K'ombat. In the end, a CFO wouldn't have anything to do with NKE's ret@rded "Believe in Something, Even if It Means Losing Everything' campaign that would mark the beginning of the end of NKE as a company.

The #2 is completely incompetent, she has got rid of all the smart people at Nike - this is management 101, true leaders surround themselves and promote people smarter then them. Weak leaders surround and promote yes women and yes men and then manage by fear. She is not interested in hearing any divergent views.

@be+1 ok then who do you think can step up internally? External CEOs haven’t worked here but a CFO with industry experience elsewhere can whip this function into shape. The problem is we go in circles with the same old loop of a process and head nowhere. CFO and his vp of transformation have been implementing the new ERP solution for nearly a decade! And still there’s problems teams have to work through manual solutions daily to fix. This would not be acceptable in any other company but here it seems. And #2 and her nepotism…yes so true all she does is promote her own inner circle, and many of them not terribly bright and yet here we are…she’s been given the ok to do so by him so why not. The smart ones all jumped ship already or she pushed them out with layoffs.

His number two is the queen of nepotism and has completely ruined the culture. She’s handing out high level jobs to her inner circle for decades

Great another outsider at Nike to take a senior leader role. That always hits 100% of the time.

say it louder for the folks outside sebcoe!! glad someone else is talking about it.... CFO has been riding whichever story whichever CEO sells, does not have his own insightful POV, but then again when has he ever executed a real strategy and ran a real P&L...his time in geos was consolidation focused, he actually has no operational skillset. His #2 not even worth discussing - she's openly disliked and not respected by finance and those outside finance. Ive seen her in meetings openly enjoying the power she's been handed by CFO... the whole senior leadership finance crew isn't very bright and there's definitely no clear bench for the future. EH needs to look outside the company for a strong industry leader
