The buyout will occur within 3 years and if they are smart will rid themselves of the ATT name. Whitacre, Stephenson, and Stankey should be white washed from the record books and never mentioned. They have to rid themselves of their legacy reputation. Verizon left GTE and Bell Atlantic behind. Comcast is now Spectrum etc... You don't want the ATT lineage and it's disastrous reputation following you and reminding you like a low tide stink.

Oh shut up. Stink isn’t going to sell this off to private equity. Literally shut up with these stupid ideas.
The largest ever private equity buyout was $45B. AT&Ts market cap is currently $188B and outstanding debt is $120B. Which private equity firm can raise $300B to buy AT&T and why would they take this bet?
Whoever posted this is a fool.
Stankey has driven the stock price double
Double??? More like cut it in half. Take a look at the 10 year view, pal. That’s a measure of failure. GFY!
Stankey ain’t Tim Cook. Bu he thinks he is smarter than a 5 grader.
Stankey has driven the stock price double. Thats the measure of success.
Yeah, this is the forum where financial market and private equity experts definitely visit daily.
Charter is Spectrum
Comcast is XFinity
ATT is Monopolistic, D-mb, Bloated, Slow and Out of Touch. I get your original point. Whitacre has a stiffie for being the Head of "ATT"
Ericsson will handle the domestic network operations, most everything else will be offshore to India and Philippines. Private Equity guts it, pops the numbers and either retains for cash flow or sells.
Um, Spectrum has nothing to do with Comcast. Different company (Charter Communications).
"Xfinity" IS Comcast though.
D minus.
Poorly researched.
