It seems indiscriminate. Looking for someone who was here maybe back in ‘08 or any previous downturns. Did lay-offs look similar to this? They are laying off top performers, entry level people who don’t command high salaries, engineers, sales etc. There doesn’t seem to be much of a pattern beyond product or industry. A team will let go of it’s top performer but retain someone who’s never performed. I just can’t see the logic in it. Looking for anyone who’s seen something like this before and can provide some insight.

There must be a lot of worried managers after listening to the keynotes, only to realize that the winds have changed. Time to learn about Medical Records, not network configuration.
After leaving Oracle nearly 3 years ago, I quickly realized that life can be so much better. You can have happy customers, good products and a rewarding career elsewhere. Oracle needs a complete makeover and as long as Larry is alive the company will continue to act the same way.
Pretty sure it's financially based on group performance that's why this round is a lot quieter.
I hope Workday, Microsoft, SAP, Salesforce, Adobe, and other competitors are reading this thread. Oracle is offering its lunch to be eaten, right on a silver platter.
This feels like they are afraid and out of control!
