I completely agree with this statement. The EUC is a relic of the past and is gradually becoming obsolete. Many individuals who left Omnissa on their own or due to layoffs are unable to find employment in EUC space because it has become a redundant and outdated system.

"EUC is in the hearse on it's last ride to the technology graveyard."

That's the same perspective at Gartner and IDC. Enterprise CIOs have not seen any meaningful innovation from the EUC software vendors, and Microsoft is the only winner.

I've known Brian for years. I am 100% willing to bet that he was offered stupid money and shares to be the face of Citrix that they are going to need to try to prevent strategic customers from jumping ship. I don't think in the end this is gonna go the way Citrix/CSG hoped once he sees the sh*tshow under the kimono that he had to have known was there. Maybe he's there as a disaster tourist? Who knows. A lot of these "EUC personalities" are trying to remain relevant enough to cash in on what's left of legacy EUC so they can retire comfortably and go run a bed and breakfast or fishing charter business or whatever. A lot of the strategic customer CIOs may have rubbed elbows at the bar with Madden back in the day, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find 10 today at the strategic tier that know who he is. I made a ton of money in my career as a sales engineer/consultant in EUC, and I'm about the same age as Brian. I've moved on and retooled in the last 5 years as I saw the writing on the wall when I was at Citrix before and during the CSG era. Legacy EUC is in the hearse on it's last ride to the technology graveyard.

"All they need are a few top level people to connect with a few of the huge enterprise customers and that’s it."

If that's the goal, then Madden is not qualified. He is known for his blogging by help desk SysAdmins and their supervisors. He's unknown to decision makers at large enterprise customers. Ditto with all our current spokespersons at Omnissa.

Looking forward to the eventual "Brian Madden’s brutal and unfiltered thoughts on the CSG" sh*tposting article on LinkedIn. How ironic he's working for Broadcom-lite + Tom Krause :)

CSG/Citrix is a nightmare with Tom Krause at the helm. The same guy leading the gutting of the US for Elon and Doge. They just laid off another 15-20% and will continue. About 70-75% of the company is gone since the buyout. They aren’t even selling anymore outside of their top enterprise customers renewing. The people don’t exist anymore internally and they are only selling through Arrow in a couple months. All they need are a few top level people to connect with a few of the huge enterprise customers and that’s it.

"The rats are running out of places to run to."

Brian has a common problem for folks who built a career in the EUC sector, a decade of skills and experience are obsolete and irrelevant in the modern software environment. Therefore, they have little choice but to bounce between the old VDI and UEM vendors.

Give him a few months, and then he'll post on LinkedIn—Citrix is Toast. By the way, his brother Jack is still at Omnissa. In time, I predict they will announce that they rejoined Tech Target as bloggers. End of story. Nothing is interesting here; move along.

Not a clever move going from one dying company to another dying company. The rats are running out of places to run to.

Inept waste of space chasing CTO for money. Will make nonsensical blogs, will sell vaporware to customers.

Will attempt to steer product, will get put back in his lane and will quit (again).

CTO = chief talking officer (according to VMware's former CTO).
B will sooner or later say some stuff that will be at odds with his corporate leaders and that will be the end of it. I like him and I wish him well, but he has a rebellious streak that gets him into trouble from time to time.
For what it's worth, Citrix is actively recruiting visible EUC personalities.
It's an interesting strategy, but all style and no substance.
