Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Pay Raise..

never fails...26 years here...3.0% raise...after years of stellar reviews...and this year supposedly claimed to have gone "Fantastic" by the sweetish meatball...
Total operating revenue of $35.7 billion in fourth-quarter 2024, up 1.6 percent compared to fourth-quarter 2023.

Shameful!!

Yup. Our group had record year for our metrics. I got achieving, but all of the feedback pointed to a higher rating. 2.5%. Just confirms that what you do has little influence on your payout. Great year, meh year - Same rating, meh payout. I guess from their perspective having a job is the big bonus.

@jv+

How long have we been limited to a 10% raise for each promotion?

How long has it been since we could get mid-cycle raises just dropping by the boss’s office when he was having a good day?

If you got hired in an entry level job at $40k-50k like customer service after both of the above doors closed, God help you trying to triple that base under the new rules, even in 20 years.

So when you’re explaining to your kids how things are different today, they’ll be sure to cut you off after “I spent 26 yea-…”

I apologize if this comes off rude but if you've worked 26 years and you haven't made the moves needed to get you to $150-160k, you should not be complaining about a 3% raise. You should be looking at what you've done with the opportunities you've had and explain to your kids where you went wrong.

$5k from 3% is over $160k base. As a 6V, sure. But some people aren’t senior managers, even with 26 years’ tenure.

The only motivation in this place is keeping your job. Anyone saying you should be happy must be in the hr team. I am fairly new to this company and the way they "reward" people here is beyond insanity. I wonder why there is a moral problem

3% after 26 years? You have to be pushing 5-7k raise. That's a lot for one year! Stop bching and get to work.

A 3% raise is actually pretty good if you are higher in your pay range. You need a promotion or a job outside of Vz to do better than that.
