The only reason there has been no layoff yet is because they are redoing the severance package for non-represented employees. It will be a far cry from the 6 months pay they have been giving. It is something like 2 weeks pay per level.

Severance is mostly a payoff to prevent you from suing them. AT&T is way below the industry standards on severance already. Any lower and basically everyone who gets laid off will just sue. They will only make lawyers rich if they try to pull something like this.
T isn't going to save tons of money reducing the severance packages of mid to lower management. There's more money involved with laying off union and upper-management that has its own severance guidelines. It's like cutting out a daily cup of Starbucks to "save money" when you're still eating out for lunch and dinner.
The Stink is pleased! He wants EVERYONE to leave so he can pocket your severance!
NJ Warn Act protects those in NJ. So, won't be impacted if this is true. Min 6 months or 1 week per year of service. Whichever is greater.
No, I'm not going to as my overlords want. If I quit, it will be no notice on my own timetable, and the time is not now.
Until then, I'm here doing the bare minimum with a crummy attitude.
I live in New Jersey so by law I’m entitled to more than 6 mo severance.

What in the ai written bs is that?
Do you seriously believe that is an accurate source when it’s written that poorly?
I have contacts I trust pretty high up the chain and there has been no movement on changing the severance at this time. Will it change? Who knows but I sure as he-l know fired.fyi isn’t leaking any news about management severance.
Maybe look for a new job because, with Federal government layoffs, the job market could become tight?
But then again, maybe not everyone is dissatisfied at AT&T. (gasp)

OK, to revise the existing Management Severance Plan would literally take 5 minutes.
So what’s the big delay?
Almost as if this is completely made up.
And stop acting like severance that caps at 6 months is some high bar, or some industry leading benefit. It isn’t. It’s below average.
This is bull$hit
Stop with the ridiculous lies.
Management Severance is already below the industry and general corporate standards after the reductions from the cap at 1 year's salary to 6 months, which they did in 2015 or so.
They're not reducing it further.
So based on that link and info; new plan would be for non-bargained:
1 month for L1
2 months for L2
I’m sure those would be the maximums. If so that will definitely result I a lot more retirements.
